Ayurvedic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis towards cure

Sonuraj, a 27-year-old male patient was looking for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis  in Calicut and that is when he approached us with severe symptoms. The patient complained of pain in joints of both hands and legs for 1-1/2 years. Around 18 months before taking Ayurveda treatment, the patient developed pain in the upper and lower extremities joints. Pain aggravates during daytime and cold weather, whereas stiffness is felt during early morning that usually goes away in about two hours, and he also mentioned that he started losing his appetite.

After starting Allopathic medications, the patient felt relief, but a few weeks later, the pain began developing in the chest region along with burning sensation. On continuing the medicines for three months, he developed nodes in his hands and behind the knee. His condition aggravated to an extent where movements got restricted, and the limbs started turning outwards.

Redness in the joints was also identified during the consultation.

ASO levels were elevated to 400IU though RA factor showed negative. The diagnosis was made of rheumatoid arthritis.

Later we went on with

• Vasti procedure

In the early stages of treatment, we could see the changes in his swelling, redness but the pain kept fluctuating, but in the course of 21 days treatment:

• His pain reduced
• He was able to move freely
• His appetite improved.

He was then advised to continue internal medications for another period of 15days after a follow-up consultation was set up, and Dr. Sanand decided to continue his internal medication for about four months until the ASO level came down to 59IU based on the changes seen with the medication.
