How is health related to Deepavali?
Day 1: Dhanteras
Dhanteras is said to be the day when the efforts of the Asuras and the Gods to get the Amrita, became fruitful with the appearance of Lord Dhanvantari.
We believe Dhanteras is the most auspicious day to offer our prayers to Lord Dhanvantari for the blessings of good health.
Day 2: Choti Deepavali – The Diya of life
In old times there was a king named Hima, a prophecy was made that his son would die on fourth day of the son’s marriage. In order to save the husband from lord Yamraaj the newly wedded wife placed heaps of gold and silver at the door of bedroom and lighted many diyas in the room. Yamraaj who had come in form or a snake was blinded by the bright light present at the door and couldn’t reach the husband and the king’s son was saved from death. This day is hence celebrated by offering 4 faced diya to Lord Yamraaj for long life.
Day 3: Deepavali : Festival of light
How is Lakshmi pujan related to Deepavali
Deepavali is celebrated as the day of return of Lord Ram to his kingdom, Ayodhya, bringing prosperity for the people of Ayodhya. Lakshmi is the goddess of prosperity and wealth therefore people perform pujan to please Goddess Lakshmi and request blessing of prosperity for their home and lives on this day.
Light symbolises warm welcome which is why during Deepavali, we light up diya/ candle etc. in our home welcoming goddess Lakshmi to our homes.
What are the benefits of Lakshmi pujan for patients:
-
To reduce the effects of disease
-
For the improved comfort and will power to fight the health condition
-
For fast recovery
Side effects of overwhelming wealth
Goddess Lakshmi grants ours wish for wealth whereas Shani keeps the record of what we do with that wealth. If the money is used put in for ill-usage like boasting, hurting other etc. then, Shani binds the individual for a duration of 7.5 years. In the first 3 years the individual will lose the money and the next phase he will lose his health. Finally, when the person humbles down he will be freed from the bondage.
How do we conduct Lakshmi Pujan at Sree subhramania Ayurvedic nursing home
Date of Deepavali is fixed according to the Hindu calendar which is based on the cycle of moon, whereas the timing is according to the mahurat. Why?
Cosmic radiations from the distant stars come and interact with the brain cells which get transformed into electric impulses. This helps us to minimise and change our current condition based on our past analysis. By utilising the positivity associated with stars to help our patients get the benefits, we select the time of pujan. Our Ayurveda center completely believes in our tradition and would use the science in our tradition to help patients as much as it is possible.
Hope the readers can join us in the next Lakshmi pujan we will be conducting in 2021 and experience the health benefits of celebrating deepavali with us.
