Lord Sree Subramania
Our Presiding Deity
Sree Subramania Temple
Sree Subramania Temple was built at the premise of Shri T. Rajaratnam Vaidyar, as a followup to the intuitions of forefathers of Thekkeyil family who have been greatly devoted to Lord Subramania. The temple holds some of the rare carvings of ancient Gods. The family of Vaidyars usually conduct regular poojas at Subramania temple as they considered the “LORD SUBRAMANIA” has the final say to many incurables through blessings. Medicines prepared are kept before the deity as ‘offering’ before it is given to patients to have blessing effect. In fact, there is psychological curing effect also when some chronic diseases are treated with blessed medicines. In some of the cases, patients are taken to the temple first before the treatment begins to get direct blessings from the Lord Subramania. There are proved cases of curing effect to confirm their belief. As a routine, poojas are conducted at temple chanting Vedic Sanskrit mantras for two hours to get Sree Subramania’s blessings. Both T.Rajaratnam Vaidyar and Dr. Sanand Ratnam are deeply involved in temple sanctity and devoted to worshiping Sree Subramania. The treatments undertaken after blessings from the Lord Subramania daily has an impact over in the Nursing Home (Chikitsalaya) in the name of Sree Subramania Ayurvedic Nursing Home.

The founders of the Thekkayil Vaidyasala founded this Nursing Home in the follow up to bring the treatment facility to the needy in this locality.
As all the family members of the Thekkayil family has followed the practice of Vaidyam or Treatment which is called in the modern times, it has become the nature of the family members to get the needy treated in the length and breadth of their city. They almost strictly followed the traditions of the treatment practices of their elders, which was brought down hierarchically till the present generation of the Thekkayil family.
As the time passed and the modern technique and researches were added to the ayurveda, the present generation of the Thekkayil family members are all professional Ayurvedic practicing professionals with a degree from Government of India for the practice. But the knowledge shared by their forefather’s remains the basic principles in practice.
