How do we treat diseases in Ayurveda?
According to Ayurveda, health is achieved by a healthy lifestyle with no shortcut, trying to achieve the equilibrium between the body and the surrounding. Ayurvedic treatment modalities aim to reinstate this equilibrium by either shamana chikitsa (alleviating treatment) or shodhana chikitsa (purification therapies).
Shodhana therapies are effective in serious, chronic diseases as they help in better circulation of medicine through the body, as well as prophylactically in healthy individuals as they remove the accumulated toxins from its root promoting overall health by reducing the effects of toxins in our body.
